Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026 · Applies to the Berdua waitlist and website.

1. Who we are

Berdua ("Berdua", "we", "us") is a dating service for Southeast Asia, operated by Berdua Pte. Ltd. (Singapore, in incorporation). We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

2. What we collect

At this waitlist stage, we collect only what you give us and basic technical data:

DataWhy
Email addressTo contact you about early access
CityTo know where to launch and when to notify you
Dating intent (e.g. serious, marriage-minded)To understand demand and tailor the service
Consent flag & timestampTo record your consent
Basic technical data (e.g. via our hosting)To operate and secure the website

3. How we use it

To notify you about early access and launch, understand demand across the region, and improve Berdua. We do not sell your personal data, and we will not use it for unrelated purposes without your consent.

4. Consent & your choices

We collect and use your data with your consent, given when you join the waitlist. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing dpo@berdua.asia; we will then stop contacting you and delete your waitlist data unless we are required to keep it. Marketing emails are optional — you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.

5. Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run the waitlist: Supabase (database) and Vercel (website hosting). They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We may disclose data if required by law.

6. Overseas transfer

Our providers may store or process data on servers outside Singapore. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data receives protection comparable to the PDPA.

7. How long we keep it

We keep waitlist data until launch in your market or until you withdraw consent — whichever is earlier — after which we delete or anonymise it, unless retention is legally required.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, or correction of, your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing our Data Protection Officer at dpo@berdua.asia. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including access controls and encryption in transit — to protect your data. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard it and will notify you and the PDPC of any significant data breach as required.

10. Age

Berdua is strictly for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
